On Thursday, April 18, 2024, as part of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, Family Service League (FSL) and its SAVE of Essex County Program, joined co-sponsors Rutger’s University, NJIT, and other supporting organizations in a Take Back The Night evening march, rally & speak-out, focused on spreading awareness about the prevalence of sexual violence in communities and college campuses, as well as de-stigmatizing survivors.
According to the Rutger’s University website, “We know that anyone can be a survivor, and that it occurs across all races, ages, socio-economic backgrounds and genders.”
The event was well attended including FSL staff members and volunteer advocates.
