Family Service League Receives $5000 Fall Grant from Montclair Foundation

Family Service League/Save of Essex County (FSL) recently received a $5000 grant from The Montclair Foundation. This grant will enable FSL to continue to provide crucial virtual support group services to survivors of sexual violence. The Montclair Foundation's ongoing generosity plays a vital role in helping FSL sustain and expand critical community services.

Virtual support groups have become an incredibly valuable resource, offering connection, understanding, and practical help to individuals facing a wide range of challenges, regardless of their location. They essentially replicate the benefits of in-person support groups using video conferencing. According To Nur Kalyoncu, Family Service League/Save of Essex County Executive Director, “These groups allow our organization to continue to provide a safe counseling environment exclusively for survivors of sexual violence to process and heal from the trauma due to sexual violence. “

Family Service League/Save of Essex County’s mission is to strengthen and support those seeking counseling for any life event, provide sexual violence advocacy services, and offer educational programs to combat sexual violence. All our services are open to individuals, their significant others, and family members. Family Service League is a client-centered agency that is committed to making its services available to all in the community.

The Montclair Foundation was established to support not-for-profit organizations that meet health, educational, cultural, social service and quality of life needs in the greater Montclair community. It offers concerned citizens a way to assure the continuing vitality of Montclair and serves as a permanent conduit for charitable giving. The Montclair Foundation funds local nonprofits addressing critical challenges, such as homelessness, hunger, education, domestic violence, and safety.
