Family Service League Amplifies Sexual Assault Awareness Month with the Help of Local Coffee Shops

Family Service League and Save of Essex County Sexual Assault Awareness Coffee Sleeve Program

April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This April, Family Service League and SAVE of Essex County dispersed coffee sleeves to local coffee shops in hopes of empowering our community to take a stand against sexual violence. The coffee sleeves are imprinted with important information about Sexual Assault Awareness.

Coffee shops that participated were Cedar Beans Coffee Joint in Cedar Grove, Local Coffee in Montclair, and 23 Skidoo Cafe in Bloomfield, NJ.

Sexual assault is alarmingly common in the United States, where data shows more than half of all women and nearly one-third of all men have endured sexual violence.

Thank you to all the coffee shops who participated.
