Family Service League is delighted to announce new grants to support the Essex County Rape Care Center from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, the Jewish Women's Foundation of New Jersey, and the State of New Jersey. New support for the counseling program has been provided by the Community Development Block Grant Program and the Junior League of Montclair-Newark and Family Service League's exciting new Mentor program is supported by a grant from Roche.

HOME GET INVOLVED VOLUNTEER

Volunteer

There are many opportunities for community residents to help families in need as Family Service League volunteers. Some require training and a substantial time commitment on a regular basis; others are discrete projects to be completed at one time. All will have an impact on our neighbors in need. Listed below are a number of options available. Please contact our Director of Development, Elliot Dee, at 973-746-0800×25 or via email at edee@familyserviceleague.org to register as a volunteer or to inquire about other volunteer options that might be of special interest to you.

Essex County Rape Care Center
1. Serve as an Advocate (40 hour training)
2. Assist with an Education & Outreach Event
3. Distribute sexual violence prevention materials
4. Solicit items for Rape Care packages for survivors
5. Contact schools and agencies about available services.

Family Day Nursery School
1. Read books, sing songs at an enrichment program.
2. Assist with planning and logistics for a school event
3. Contact merchants about donating items for the School.
4. Help create a flower or vegetable garden with the children
