HOME WHAT WE DO MENTOR PROGRAM

Mentor Program

Family Service League’s Mentor Program is designed to provide under-served youth with exposure, motivation and guidance in professional fields including law, science and business. Promising students who lack access to professional role models are carefully matched with accomplished professionals who participate as their partners in a rigorous academic curriculum. The program engages Mentor/Student pairs in a collaborative professional simulated competition to encourage youth to pursue higher education and professional careers. Students and mentors are selected through a rigorous application process involving essays, letters of recommendation and a background check for the mentors. Academic and professional programming is supported by goal-setting and, where appropriate, counseling for students and their families.
